The Viral Makeup Products We Tried

Some makeup goes viral for five minutes and ends up abandoned in your drawer. And some products? They stay — because they’re easy, flattering, and actually fun to use. We spent the last few weeks trying a handful of TikTok-famous bestsellers to see which ones lived up to the algorithm. These six made the cut.
✨ Makeup by Mario – SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer
At first we weren’t sure what this was: a bronzer? A skin tint? A balm? Turns out — it’s all of the above. The texture is a silky cream that gives your face warmth and dimension without looking like you’re wearing product. We used it solo on bare skin and over light foundation, and in both cases it melted in like skincare. Think: glow-up, not makeup.
🪶 Refy – Blur Liner
This launched with a ton of hype — and we see why. It’s not quite a lipstick, not quite a liner. The best description we have is: this is what you use when you want your lips to look undone but defined. It’s creamy but not slippery, and the blurred finish really does give that modern, soft edge. We kept grabbing it even on no-foundation days.
💋 YSL – Plumping Lip Oil
The texture. The shine. The feeling. We didn’t think we’d be into a luxury lip oil, but this formula is lightweight, non-sticky, and gives glassy glow with zero tackiness. The plumping effect is subtle (read: not spicy), and it feels more nourishing than most glosses we’ve tried. Shade 44 — chef’s kiss.
🖌 Benefit – Fluff Up Brow Wax
Feathered, full brows in 20 seconds. This clear wax gives hold without crunchiness — a rare combo. Even better, it doesn’t flake after a few hours like some gels do. We used it solo and over pencil, and it layered well either way. Once set, it didn’t move. Bonus: the brush is small enough for actual brow control, not chaos.
💦 Charlotte Tilbury – Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Spray
This setting spray’s gone viral for a reason. It actually holds your makeup in place without tightening your skin or making it feel like a hairspray situation. We wore it through a long wedding weekend (heat + dancing = sweat) and makeup looked fresh until the Uber ride home. This is now non-negotiable in our kit.
🧃 Rhode – Pocket Blush
It’s creamy. It’s blendable. It’s compact. We weren’t sure what to expect from Rhode’s first blush, but this stick format works surprisingly well. It blends with fingers and brush alike, and it gives that hydrated flush we’re always trying to fake. Shade “Piggy” gave us that sunburnt-but-cute look, and it layered beautifully over both matte and dewy base products.
Our Takeaways
- Cream > powder if you want ease + radiance
- You can skip contour if your bronzer melts properly
- Brow wax > brow pencil if you’re in a rush
- Plumping doesn’t have to sting
- Setting spray is the difference between “midday meltdown” and “still cute at 11PM”
We’d buy all of these again — and trust us, that’s rare.
